This blog post feels like a dream to be writing. We are officially engaged! After three and a half years of love and adventure, Jake proposed. And honestly… it was the easiest yes EVER!
Jake is one of the most thoughtful human beings I have ever met, and I am so lucky to call this man my Fiancé and future husband! He spent months thinking out different scenarios and planning an absolutely epic proposal.
We were officially engaged November 2 2021 on the beach in Bora Bora at the beautiful Four Seasons Resort!
SO without further delay, here are ALL the details of the proposal!
The Proposal
Pre-Proposal
As you all know, we are content creators and we take all of our own photos. Jake knew leading up to this moment that he did not want the pressure of taking these photos himself. So a few months prior to our trip to the French Polynesia, Jake connected with a Bora Bora photographer and set up a time and day for the proposal to happen!
Because we take our own photos, it would be highly suspicious for a photographer to hired to meet us at our Resort. Jake, being the most thoughtful person ever, reached out to one of our contacts at Four Season’s Bora Bora, and got them to email our business email. The email stated that there was an amazing photographer available at the Resort on this particular day, and that they would love to set up a shoot with us to get content for the Resort’s marketing needs. I read the email to Jake (even though he already knew what it said as he set everything up!) and we agreed.
Proposal Day
To start the day, we took in the most amazing sunrise from our Overwater Bungalow. The Four Season’s Bora Bora then treated us to an epic breakfast spread right in the ocean! The rest of the morning, we went back to our Overwater Bungalow, jammed out to some music on our deck and swam in the ocean.
With the photography shoot approaching in the afternoon, some rain started to move in. Jake was SO nervous not only for the proposal, but also for the weather. The sun was shining all day, then the skies turned grey and stormy. I was nervous because we never shot with a photographer before. Jake was so good at calming me down and talking me up, despite being so nervous himself. Hence, why I love this man so much!
Luckily, just as we were heading to the photo shoot, the weather became super sunny again (YAY!). Both of us were very nervous (for VERY different reasons). When we got to the location, the photographer and his assistant made us feel super comfortable (Jake had already been speaking to them for months). They started taking some shots of just me, and Jake secretly was handed the ring by the photographer assistant.
They called Jake back into the shots. I could feel Jake’s heart beating through his shirt and I remember thinking to myself “wow this man is so nervous for these photos”. Not once did it ever occur to me that he would be proposing during this photo shoot as it was for the Resort (or so i thought!).
Jake then says “are you ready?”
I was SO confused. I had absolutely no idea why he was asking if I was ready. However, after the fact, Jake said he was speaking to himself, but said it out loud. HA! How cute is that.
Jake then got down on one knee.
I said yes! (I was in shock)
The rest is history!

The Ring
Made by Olive Avenue Jewelry
As just about every girl does, I had an entire Pinterest board full of dream wedding ideas, including rings! Jake being the most thoughtful person ever, looked through all of my ring inspo to get an idea of what I liked. With this research, he stumbled upon a million rings that I had pinned from Olive Avenue Jewelry.
Olive Avenue is a company that I personally love as they are a family owned business for over 35 years. All of their rings are vintage inspired and so unique. They offer the choice of Moissanite, Lab Grown Diamonds, Natural Diamonds and Gemstone for center stones. Making every ring super unique and special, just like the women that get to wear them!
There is one particular design that Jake absolutely fell in love with, The Collins Ring. It has an asymmetrical Halo which is so beautiful. He chose an absolutely beautiful genuine Diamond for the center stone, a yellow gold band and got the interior of the ring engraved “i love u”. Jake worked closely with the team at Olive Avenue Jewelry to create the perfect custom Collins ring. The entire team was incredibly helpful and kind. Jake loved working with them!
I honestly couldn’t dream up a more beautiful ring.
And now.. to soak up every moment of being engaged.
And then.. destination wedding planning! WOOHOO!
Thank You Olive Avenue Jewelry!
