How To Find The Falls
Aguinid Falls is located near the town of Samboan in South Cebu Island.
From Cebu City
The easiest and most cost effective way to get to Aguinid Falls from Cebu City is the public Yellow Bus! From the South Bus Terminal in the City, you will tell the driver that you want to get off at Aguinid Falls in Samboan and they will drop you off close-by the entrance to the falls! From the road, it is a short walk to the entrance of the falls. It will take a few hours to get here from Cebu City, so we recommend getting accommodations in Moalboal, Samboan or Oslob for easier access. Plus there is a lot to do in the area so you will want to stick around and explore.
From Moalboal
If you are staying in Moalboal, it is about an hour and twenty minutes drive to the falls. To get there from Moalboal you can either rent a scooter and drive yourself, or you can catch the public yellow bus (it was 175 php each person for us to Samboan). You can catch the yellow bus along the side of the road every 30 minutes in Moalboal. You can just wave the bus down and they will stop for you! From the road, it is a short walk to the entrance of the falls.
From Samboan
If you are traveling from Samboan, the easiest way to get to Aguinid Falls is by renting a scooter. We had one dropped off to our hotel in Samboan for 550 php for the day with a full tank of gas. We found the scooter to be the best way to get around, allowing us to enjoy places for as little, or as much time as we wanted without feeling rushed by a tour guide or driver. And we also got to explore more of the area!
From Oslob
Aguinid Falls is only 22km away from Oslob, making it quite easy to visit here. It will take about a half an hour to drive to the Falls from Oslob. We recommend hiring a scooter for the day to explore the area!
We have pinned the exact Google Maps location below!
Aguinid Falls Entrance Fee
Aguinid Falls entrance fee as of 2023 is 300 php per person. This price has gone up in the recent years due to the maintenance and equipment needed for this falls. The entrance fee includes access to all 8 levels of the falls, 2 guides, and the mandatory safety equipment of a helmet, water shoes and a life jacket.
If you are wondering if you can skip the guide, you cannot. And this is not a waterfall where the guide just walks you down a path and hangs out with you. Aguinid Falls requires a guide because there is a lot of climbing involved and there are optional jumps on the various levels. For your safety it is absolutely necessary!
If you are arriving in a vehicle or on a scooter, there is a small parking fee of 20 php as well. You will pay one of the ladies in the parking lot.
Another important thing to note, is that Wednesday is the waterfall maintenance day so not all of the levels can be accessed on that day. The price goes down to 100 php on Wednesdays as well due to this inconvenience.
Arriving at Aguinid Falls
When you first arrive at Aguinid Falls you will be greeted by some very friendly vendors selling a variety of items. There are snack stands, drink stands and small souvenirs available if you wanted something after your adventure.
From the parking lot, you will walk up to the ticket office. You will sign in and pay your entrance fee. There you will be given your water shoes, helmet and life jacket! You will also meet your guides that will be bringing you on this amazing adventure.
The guides will bring you over to a visual board that showcases all of the levels you will be visiting and they will provide a quick safety briefing. From there, you start on your adventure up Aguinid Falls!
An important note: If you do not have a waterproof bag for your belongings, you can leave some things at the office with the workers. Your stuff will be safe here! You can also lock them inside of your scooter seat.
What To Expect at Aguinid Falls
There are currently 8 levels to explore at Aguinid Falls (although technically 9 since you begin at level zero).
This is not a a typical waterfall that you find in the Philippines! This is not a place where you take a leisurely stroll through the forest and relax in a pool at the base of the waterfall. Aguinid Falls is an incredible adventure that involves hiking, climbing and jumping your way through the various levels.
It took us about an hour and half to complete the hike and that was with multiple stops to take photos and videos at the various levels.
Once you reach the final level of the falls, you are guided back down to the entrance via a walking path and out along the road!
Final Thoughts
Aguinid Falls is a unique, multi-level waterfall adventure in the southern portion of Cebu! If you are looking for an unforgettable experience while exploring the Moalboal and Samboan area of Cebu, then you need to add Aguinid Falls to your itinerary!
