This year has been nothing but unique and this upcoming Christmas season will be no different! Christmas is both Jake and I’s favorite holiday. We love spending time with our families and reflecting on the year that has gone by. And this year has been quite the year!
Jake and I usually hesitate when buying gifts for each other because we always prioritize experiences. However, because we cannot travel right now, we began to think what can we buy each other this Christmas season. We started racking our brains for gifts that would make traveling easier (when it is safe to do so), and even gifts for our home that are travel themed to keep wanderlust alive.
This is when we thought that there are probably tons of other people out there that are doing the same thing! We consider ourselves somewhat experts in this area. So we put together this ultimate gift guide for the traveler in your life. Gift’s people that travel ACTUALLY want!

Packing Cubes
Packing cubes have recently come into our lives and we will never turn back. For people who love to be organized, living out of a suitcase or backpack for any amount of time can cause some serious anxiety! Packing cubes are the perfect solution, allowing the traveler in your life to organize their belongings and easily find what they are looking for!
Travel Adapter
A travel adapter is a crucial component to every traveler’s bag who will be adventuring abroad. A travel adapter will allow you to charge your phone, laptop, camera, etc, anywhere in the world, without the fear of frying them! Different countries around the world have different plug styles and voltage.
Microfiber travel towel
We wish that we had one of these when we first started traveling. Microfiber travel towels are fast drying, come in a variety of sizes and have so many uses. Aside from the obvious use, we use ours as a light blanket on the plane, and a shawl in places where my shoulders need to be covered. We also have soaked it in water and slept with it as a blanket in places with no AC (so refreshing). They are so light you don’t even notice them in your bag. We think this is a must have item.
Portable Charger pack
A portable charging pack is another must have item for any traveler. We have been stuck in multiple places around the world without a wall plug in site and our phones left dying. Portable chargers allow you to charge a device on the go, anywhere! They are so light and compact so they do not take up much room in a bag. A must have gift!
Camelbak
We take our camelbak’s with us everywhere! They easily slip into the laptop pouch in a backpack and allow us to have clean drinking water everywhere we go! This helps us cut down on single use plastic water bottles when we travel as well. You can buy just the camelbak insert or the insert with a backpack. We have linked both options below!
gopro Camera
Our GoPro Camera is one of the best purchases that we ever made. A GoPro is the ultimate adventure travel camera. It allows you to capture photo and video memories in both wet and dry conditions! Take this camera with you diving in the ocean, swimming in a pool or riding on a motorcycle. This camera is designed to live through all of those moments with you! Gimbal
What the heck is a gimbal? Good question. This is a device that stabilizes your phone to take smooth videos while you are traveling! Our DJI Osmo is a recent addition to our camera bag and we honestly don’t know what we did without it! This is the perfect gift for the person in your life that loves to document every moment of their travels.
Portable Photo Printer
Polaroid’s and film photography are becoming increasingly popular this year. Portable photo printers allow the traveler in your life to print any photo from their smartphone onto a Polaroid in minutes. We think this is such a unique way to capture travel memories!
World Map
We currently have 5 different world map’s hung around our home. This is the perfect gift to give the traveler in your life. There is a such a wide variety of map’s to choose from.
